MTANDAO WA SULEDO NA HARAKATI ZA KUZUIA UHARIBIFU WA MISITU (SUNYA,LENGATEI NA DONGO) Mtandao wa suledo ni mtandao unaounganisha kata tatu ambazo kimsingi zimekuwa kama kielelezo cha utunzaji na usimamizi wa misitu ya jamii. Kata hizo ni Sunya, Lengatei na Dongo ziliamua kuungana na kuanzisha mtandao wa SULEDO wenye jumla ya vijiji kumi. Mtandao huu umejikita katika kusimamia msitu wa jamii wenye ukubwa wa 116741ha. Ili kufanikisha jukumu hilo jamii hii imeandaa kamati maalum inayoundwa na wajumbe thelathini na tatu(watatu kutoka katika kila kijiji), Zonal Environmental Committee. Katika kikao kilichofanyika tarehe 20/5/2012 kilichokuwa na shabaha ya kuutambulisha mradi wa haki katika misitu unaotekelezwa kwa pamoja kati ya Mtandao wa Jamii wa Usimamizi wa Misitu Tanzania(MJUMITA) na Shirika la Kuhifadhi Misitu ya Asili Tanzania(TFCG), wenye lengo la kuona huduma zinazotokana na mfumo wa ikolojia wa misitu unahifadhiwa kwa manufaa ya jamii na taifa. Mratibu wa kanda ya kati – MJUMITA alitumia nafasi hiyo kuujulisha mtandao huo kuwa pamoja mambo mengine kuna fungu maalum kwaajili ya kusaidia suala la ufuatiliaji wa kesi zinazohusu uharibifu wa misitu. Akizungumzia changamoto wanazokabiliananazo wanasuledo, maneja wa hifadhi ya msitu wa suledo Alais Nangoro alisema, uvunaji haramu wa mbao ndio tatizo kubwa la hifadhi yetu, tumekamata mbao 178, na ufuatiliaji wa kesi hizo unahuitaji gharama kubwa, Tunashukuru kupitia mradi huu tutaweza kupambana na uhalifu wa msitu wetu alisisitiza

IS IT RIGHT TIME TO EMPOWER VILLAGE NATURAL RESOUSCE COMMETEE?

SHOULD WE SUPPORT BEEKEEPING INDUSTRY TO ENHANCE FOREST PROTECTION?

Beekeeping has proven convincing income generating activities that communities living adjacent the forest like to engage for livelihood enhancement. This has been observed during the Training Needs Assessment conducted in twelve villages in six district of Manyara, Singida and Dodoma region. We have been engage in this activities for years now said mr Alfred of Unyambanda village singida. So we need more knowledge on how to keep beehives, producing large quantity and quality honey he insisted. Recognize the thirst of the community on conservation issues Tanzania Community Forest Conservation Network is going to implementing the project(Training The Community Group/Organization Dynamics In Leadership Formation And Management Of Forest Micro Projects) which is granted by National Forest Programme Facility in Tanzania. The project is implemented in three region of Tanzania; Manyara, Singida and Dodoma. So to start with Mjumita conducted the Training Need assessment for twelve days from 27th October to 7th November of 2011 in the six districts, two from each regions, Manyoni and Singida rural in Singida region, Bahi and kondoa in Dodoma and Babati and Hanang in Manyara region of which total of 12 groups interviewed to address their training needs.
